My Hugo-based blog, which should render Markdown without complaint, was not rendering my Markdown links correctly. Spent 20 minutes trying to debug the problem, failed, and so I reverted to regular HTML links. They rendered perfectly.

Realized that I have been writing HTML since 1997 and it is still the best tool for the task. I’m really enjoying Hugo + Markdown, but HTML is still the boss.
